These are left over bucktails after aproximately 80-90% of their long, dyed fibers have been removed. There are still lots of hairs on these tails, but the prime fibers are gone.
These remnants are not recomended for medium or large sized jigs. However, there are still lots of hair fibers on these tails. These fibers could be used for smaller jigs, flies, and mid-sized jigs with muted or natural coloring.
New bucktails are 4 dollars or more. These are 2 for a $1.00. This is a cost effective way to acquire bucktail for smaller jigs and flies, or if you only plan to tie a few jigs.
